So all of MMA tweeple out there have been criticizing the judging that has been going on lately. Some of the hardcore writers seemed to have been defending the judging actions but after last night's oopsy daisy of the Couture v. Vera decision even writers for Fanhouse and Yahoo! are starting to come around to the opinion of the true MMA fan who knows quite a bit about the sport we love. One reason we may know what is going on is because we actually go int eh gym and spar and watch fights over an...

How can we not comment on the rash of injuries that is snake biting the upcoming UFC cards. Can we point a finger as to why it is happening? Perhaps. The weight cuts? The trainers who think they can make man into machine? or is it just bad luck? I'm really not sure to be honest with you but like everyone else I've got an opinion. Something has got to give with the training that these fighters are being put through. I am not saying the amount of training is the root of the injury, but I defini...

Still going on today from the amazing venue that is the Jacob Javits Center on the west side of Manhattan is the Mixed Martial Arts Expo featuring clothing companies, supplement companies, and MMA Schools, displaying their wears to all who were in attendance. If you have been to the Javits Center there is a more space in there than you have realized. We were not in the main expo area, the photoshop expo was going so MMA was relegated to the below ground spaces on the side of the building. As...

What is there to say about this Brazilian Karate Kid...well I guess we can start with the fact that he hasn't lost yet. No other current UFC champ can lay claim to that stat. I'm not really sure he has even got hit yet. Thiago Silva came after him, that didn't work, so Rashad Evans tried to start a conversation with him, that didn't work either, I'm guessing he shouldn't have tried that in the middle of a round. Aside from the urine therapy thing, (see JMM for its effectiveness) his style is ...

I'm sure we all witnessed the Anderson Silva steal moves from the Wachowski brothers at UFC 101 as he embarrassed a former Lightheavyweight Champion in Forrest Griffin. Anderson Silva entered the UFC in June of 2006 with a dismantling of Chris Leben  with only 4 losses to his name, one by a DQ, and one by  The Sickest Submission Ever , executed by Ryo Chonan, if you have never seen it, please do yourself a favor and marvel at it. Even though it was his first fight in the UFC it was enough...

So here we go on day 2 to look at another one of the most dominating champs ever in the UFC. The welterweight champ, Georges "Rush" St. Pierre, has only 2 losses in the UFC and made his last opponent, a feared striker in Thiago Alves, look completely out of his element. A shout out once again to my muse, because it was her idea, please go to her site and find out what bar you can watch the next UFC event and other tantalizing tales in the world of MMA. From his first win in the UFC against K...
  • The Most Dominating UFC Champs Ever?

So I made a comment on Twitter a couple of weeks ago about how lucky we are as fans of MMA, specifically the UFC because of the quality of the champions that are in each weight class. MMAHOTSTUFF recommended I write about it, so here it goes. Remember now even though I am a newbie to this whole MMA Internet thing I have been a long time fan of the sport while I sat on my parents couch recuperating from chemotherapy, thankfully, a long time ago. And now that I have my health back I have been tr...

I guess you could say this post is about what's important hence the title. And if you don't know the line shame on you, ask someone to explain it to you. As we embark on the great year ending events within MMA we need to take a moment realize what we got going on here. Personally I  read way too many bloggers, writers, and everyone else complaining about one thing or another with what is going on in the world of MMA. I realize there may be issues here and there but it's not like it's the 1990's...
